Indicators of recorded incidence of HIV infection in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2009 to 2013 are analyzed in dynamics.

Found that if in 2009 the number of patients with HIV was 1853 while at 31.12.2013 identified 5550 (3 times more), that indicates the deterioration of epidemiological situation in the country.

In the structure of the transmission routes of HIV since 2009 noted the activation of sexual transmission, rate of which was 26,5%, in 2011 – 29,8%, in 2012 – 30,96% and in 2013 – 39,5%, i.e. over the past 5 years, the figure rose 1,5 times, which confirms interdetermination of HIV infections with sexually transmitted diseases.

In addition, there is an active involvement of women in the epidemic process through sexual transmission of HIV during unprotected heterosexual intercourse. Thus, the ratio of this indicator in 2009 was 58,8%, in 2011 – increased to 62,7% and compared with 2013 – up to 78,3%, i.e. 1,3 times.

In terms of epidemiological prognosis - without active integration of women in preventive measures can be expected to increase in sexual transmission and further progression of HIV infection in Tajikistan.
