Noninvasive diagnosis of mechanical jaundice

The study is based on the analysis of results of ultrasound diagnosis 237 patients of obstructive jaundice of benign and malignant genesis with diseases of hepatic-pancreatic area.Authors improved method of ultrasound diagnosis of obstructive jaundice of benign and malignant etiology. Llocalization of the block in the extrahepatic bile ducts were determined strictly in 178 (75,1%) patients with obstructive jaundice of benign genesis and in 59 (24,8%) patients with tumor genesis, and choledocholithias is found in 34 (14,3%) patients. Inflammation of pancreatic head due to obstruction of common bile duct diagnosed by ultrasound in 53 (22,3%) patients and classified as acute pancreatitis, and in 27 (11,3%) tumors of the pancreatic head. In general, the sensitivity of ultrasound in determining the genesis of benign or malignant obstructive jaundice was averaged 97,9%, specificity – 97,1%, accuracy – 93,7%.
