Chemoradiotherapy in palliative care of patients with breast cancer

Chemoradiotherapy as a palliative care for 106 patients with metastatic breast cancer was conducted.

The combination of taxanes with anthracycline antibiotics or platinum medications in breast cancer is determined by their very high efficiency, different mechanisms of influence on the tumor cell, the lack of resistance.

Combination of Docetaxel+Doxorubicinor Paclitaxel + Doxorubicin have a frequency of therapeutic effect of up to 70%. The effectiveness of a combination of Paclitaxel + Platinum medications with the addition of biophosphonates in combination with radiotherapy achieves 80% efficiency in bone metastases. In the group of investigated patients 3-year survival rate was 32.4%, the 5-year - 9%.
