NEUROPROTECTIVE EFFECT OF L-TEANINE DURING EXPERIMENTAL ISCHEMIA OF BRAIN IN RATS
In the investigation neuroprotective effect of L-teanine (gamma-glutamil- ethylamide) during ischemic damage of rat brain, caused by occlusion of media brain artery (MBA) is studied. Teanine was injected intraperitoneumly in doses 1 and 4 mg/kg 30 min before and 3 h after occlusion of MBA. Teanine in all cases decreased sizes of necrosis zones in 2 day after occlusion. Besides, in this time neurological deficit was decreased. It was received that teanine provides neuroprotection during focal ischemia of brain. That preparation may be used for protection of vascular disease of the brain.
Keywords: ischemia of brain , rat, L-teanine.
