The results of surgical treatment 168 patients with uncomplicated hepatic echinococcosis which underwent to echinococcectomy were presented in article.

All patients were operated routinely using conventional open surgical techniques (n=128) and laparoscopic techniques (n=40). In most cases, cysts were located in the right lobe 131 (78,0%) in the left lobe – in 30 (18,0%) and in both lobes – in 7 (4,0%).

Comparative analysis of the results after open and laparoscopic operations showed a statistically significant difference in total number of postoperative complications (after open surgery – 11, laparoscopic surgery – in 1 case and in 2 cases the conversion was carried out), in time of surgery (134,0±35,7 minutes; 166,4±12,12 min, respectively) and in duration of hospital stay (16,6±3,6 days;. 7,6±1,6 days).

Removal of hydatid cysts using laparoscopic technique in uncomplicated course of echinococcosis is an alternative to traditional open surgery.
