Modern aspects of instrumental diagnostics and treatment of appendiceal abscess

The review article is devoted to analysis of the available literature on contemporary aspects of instrumental diagnosis and treatment of appendiceal abscess. Thus, according to some authors, appendiceal abscess amount to 0,5-6,0% of acute appendicitis complications. According to the literature, with the introduction of a new minimally invasive technologies, timely diagnosis and minimally invasive interventions have acquired a applicability. However, this requires a serious attention to the development of appropriate minimally invasive approaches as laparoscopic and puncture method under ultrasonic navigation. It remains unspent the choice of operations in atypical locations of appendiceal abscess and some questions of intraoperative tactics taking into account the specifics of laparoscopic benefits.
