F.I. Ibragimov

Clinical Hospital №3 Baku, Azerbaijan

This report presents the results of evaluation of the severity of injuries in 490 patients (360 - men, 130 – women) after severe combined injuries (SCI). In 94 patients (50 – men, 44 – women) from 490 (19,2%) were fractures of the pelvis.

Because the pelvis fractures of the pubic bones meet most – in 54 (57,4%) patients, in 11 (20,4%) – fracture of both pubic bones, in 50 (53,2%) - the ischium, and 12 (24,0%) – was bilateral. Acetabular fracture occurs in 34 (36,2%) patients, 1 patient had a fracture of both acetabulum, in 6 (6,4%) – combined with the dislocation of the femoral head.

The severity of injury also depends on the number of damaged anatomical regions, the strict observance the principle of «damage control» in health care and proper assessment of the degree of gravity on scales AIS (Abbreviated Injury Scale) and ISS (Injury Severity Scale), managed to reduce the mortality rate to 20,0% of patients the main group and 25,6% – comparison group.

Keywords: combined trauma , bone fractures, damage to the pelvis, AIS (Abbreviated İnjury Scale) and ISS (İnjury Severity Scale).
