We observed 124 patients with hydatid cyst bursted in the bronchus during 2005 to 2015 years. In 87 (70,2%) of patients hydatid cysts had small size. Chitinectomy using fiber optic bronchoscopy performed in 23 patients. Minimally invasive method echinococcectomy from lung as fiber optic bronchoscopy in 26,4% of cases, is an alternative way in treatment of patients with burst of EC in the bronchus.

Analysing the postoperative spirometry in both groups, there was a statistically significant benefit in terms of the main group comparing with control (p<0,001), showing the rough functional disorders, depending on the nature of lesion, complications and method of surgical treatment, and most good results marked after fiberbronchoscopic chitinectomy.

Our experience has shown sufficient effectiveness of proposed method – fiberbronhoscopic chitinectomy in rational use and proper identification of indications. Minimal invasiveness and high economic efficiency are its main advantages. Although thoracotomy for lung echinococcectomy remains the primary surgical treatment, proposed method allows to abandon itin some cases.
