Medical organizational approaches for assistance of neurosurgical care to patients with isolated craniocerebral injury

The case history of 2097 patients with isolated brain injury (IBI) were studied, of whom 1,899 underwent to conservative therapy, 198 – to surgery.

Medical and organizational approach of providing patients with neurosurgical care IBI was developed, which includes the following principles: diagnosis and treatment strategy in patients with IBI should be based on clinical data and CT studies performed in the early hours of admissions.

Treatment of patients with IBI and intracranial traumatic changes should be performed under CT follow-up. Repeat CT examination of the brain should be performed within 24 hours in the absence of negative dynamics in neurological or general clinical condition, or when seen to deterioration of the patient. CT dynamic observation should be performed afterpatient’s discharge during 1-2 months.
