Features of emergency surgery to patients of elderly and senile ages with colon cancer

The group of patients (n=146) aged 60 years and older in whichcolon canceridentifiedduring emergency surgical care was studied. According to the study, women were 1.4 times more than men. From histological forms of colon cancer moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma prevailed compared with low and highly differentiated (82,2% of the cases studied). 44,5% of patients admitted in stages I and II of disease, which improves operability forecast.
By localization cancer of the sigmoid colon (44,5%) more occurred, thanthe caecum (14,4%) and ascending colon (13,1%) intestines. Urgent surgical treatment, despite ofconservative therapy, received 49,3% of all surveyed. For patients from older age groups did not reduce the level of resectability of colon cancer in the study group (the tumor was removed in 77,8% of operated patients).
