The paper presents the results of a survey of the adrenal cortex in 47 patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 with diabetic nephropathy before and after treatment. Treatment DM was accomplished by intake hypoglycemic drugs and lisinopril in a dose of 5 mg to 20 mg per day depending on the degree of hypertension within 3 months.

Evaluation of adrenocortical function was performed before and after treatment with cortisol and ACTH indicators. The findings of study showed significant reduction of glucocorticoid activity of the adrenal cortex observed in the normalization of clinical and laboratory manifestations of carbohydrate metabolism and stabilization of the diabetic nephropathy.
