The purpose of this study was to investigate the concentration of interleukin-6 (IL-6) in plasma in patients with liver cirrhosis with different stages of disease. Stages of disease were divided according to Child-Pugh classification into classes A, B and C, in accordance that were formed subgroups of the main group. The first subgroup (Class A) consisted of 23 patients, the second (class B) - of 22 and the third (class C) - from 20 patients. For a control group was taken 15 apparently healthy individuals without liver diseases. The content of IL-6 was investigated by immuneenzyme analysis. The results of study has showed that in depended on disease stage average concentration of IL-6 was significantly changed: 4.34 pg / ml, 6.00 pg / ml, and 3.79 pg / ml, respectively subgroups (p = 0,0000). Multidirectional changes in concentration of IL-6 in plasma of blood have indicated to a different time of homeostasis reactions at the local and systemic levels in liver cirrhosis.

Keywords: liver cirrhosis, interleukin-6 (IL-6), the Child-Pugh classification.
