The effectiveness of implementing a standardized management of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period in women with diabetes

The effectiveness of the model management for pregnant women with diabetes mellitus (DM): screening for risk factors, pregravid preparation, antenatal care in specialized classrooms, a joint obstetric and endocrinological care during delivery and the postpartum period was assessed.
The positive results of these activities in pilot facilities (improving obstetric and perinatal outcomes, reducing the frequency of complications of diabetes during pregnancy) are the basis for the implementation of standardized approaches of pregnancy in women with diabetes at the national level.
