Opportunistic infections in HIV - infected patients in Tajikistan

The structure of secondary diseasesin 192 patients with HIV infection is studied. The presented 10 nosologic types of opportunistic infections candid ainfection (27.6%), chronic hepatitis C (25.5%), tuberculosis (20.8%), pneumocystic pneumonia (13.5%) and herpes infection (5,7%) were dominated. Burkitt's lymphoma, Kaposi's sarcoma, syphilis and HIV encephalitis met rarely.

Early diagnosis of opportunistic infections, and correctly selected ARV therapy can prolong the lives of people living with HIV/ AIDS.
