Etiological aspects of community-acquired pneumonia in infants

The features of etiologic structure community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in 70 children aged 4 months to 3 years were presented. The authors found the risk factors and manifestations CAP with the leading role of infection. Bacterial form CAP was detected in 50% of children, viral and bacterial infection - in 28.5%, atypical forms - at 17.3%, associated microbial landscape - at 41.4%, mainly in children with underlying conditions. High medical and social significance of infection in pathogenesis and prognosis of CAP determines the need for early and qualitative pathogen identification.
