Research of nervous-pchycologic status in 1464 people who took part in the liquidation of Chernobyl nuclear power plant and brain activity in 100 liquidators have revealed that radiation exposure in late periods significantly affects the functional state of nervous system . The leading place in morbidity structure take astenoneurotic state, cardiopsychoneurosis, encephalopathy.

On electroencephalogram (EEG) is showed signs of reducing brain activity, reducing the power of the alpha rhythm (22,3 ± 4,5 V / Hz at a rate 40-70mkV/Gts), increase the power of delta and theta rhythms in some patients (16 people.), high activity of mediobasal temporal structures, clinically manifested as seizures. The above changes in EEG showed nonspecific effects of desynchronizing brain structures due to changes in the intensity of metabolic processes in its tissues.

Keywords: bioelectrical activity of the brain, radiation injury, acute radiation injury, neuropsychological status.
