Microbiological features of chronic bacterial prostatitis of in diabetes
Results of research the frequency and features of the etiology of chronic bacterial prostatitis in 70 men with type 2 diabetes, depending on the presence or absence of diabetic neuropathy and/or androgen deficiency presented in the article. The presence of mentioned metabolic abnormalities in the prostate infection rate statistically higher than in their absence. Reduced sensitivity of microorganisms isolated from gland secretions to standard antibiotics can not recommend treatment of empirical antibiotic therapy for chronic bacterial prostatitis on the background of type 2 diabetes. Urogenital neuropathy and androgen deficiency are pathogenetic factors of persistent infection in the prostate in men with type 2 diabetes, which should be considered when developing strategies and tactics evaluation and treatment of this group of patients.
