Features of imbalance in the lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection system in pregnant with weight deficit
The results of biochemical blood tests in 92 pregnant women with varying degrees of weight deficit (WD) and 30 pregnant women with normal body weight suggests that the specific manifestation of pregnancy with WD is a syndrome of «Oxidative stress». This results in depletion of components of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant protective system. A decrease in activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) to 21,6%, lower vitamin E content by 25,6% and vitamin C to 19,1%, which were more pronounced in pregnant women with WD II and III degree.
Keywords: weight deficit, pregnancy, oxidative stress, antioxidant system, superoxide dismutase.
