Condition of safety injections practices in healthcare organizations in Bishkek
The paper presents the results of the evaluation of safe injection practices conducted in health care organizations in Bishkek.
Health workers do not follow the established rules of personal safety when performing medical procedures: 28,3% of doctors and 9,4% of nurses are working without gloves, 23.2% of nurses re-recap syringes; 61,1% parse syringes manually. A high professional injuries (33.9%) also take place.
A lack of awareness (13.4%) health workers on what actions should be taken when receiving occupational injury was established. Only 38.3% of health care workers vaccinated against hepatitis B. In addition revealed low awareness about HIV transmission and prevention of parenteral viral infections in nurses and the population.
